Egypt's President invites Trump to attend Gaza's d磁カ狗eal ceremony when reached

CAIRO - Egypti磁カ狗an President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Wednesday invited US President Donald Trump to attend a signing ceremony for a potential agreement to end the war in Gaza, should ongoing negotiations succeed.

In a televised speech during the Police Academy's graduation ceremony, Sisi addressed Trump directly, saying, "It would be truly wonderful if, should an agreement be reached, you could attend its signing."

"I invite President Trump, in the event of reaching an agreement, to be present for the signing of this accord in Egypt," he added.

Sisi's remarks came as Egypt continued to host intensive talks between high-level delegations from Hamas and Israel since Monday, aimed at ending the Gaza conflict under a peace plan proposed by Trump.

The Egyptian president said the negotiations were "progressing positively," expressing hope that all parties would seize the opportunity to bring the war to an end.

The indirect negotiations entered their third day on Wednesday in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, with the participation of Egypt's General Intelligence chief, the Qatari prime minister and foreign minister, the director of Turkiye's National Intelligence Organization, an Israeli delegation, and two US envoys.

Sisi said the 磁カ狗two-year war in Gaza has been very intense and caused severe humanitarian suffering and destruction, emphasizing that ending the war is crucial to realizing the aspirations of the Palestinian people for an independent state.
